Executive Summary Mr. Santamäki is a strategic change agent who has been identifying the opportunities from new technology, new business models and new applications for more than 25 years. His experience ranges from telecom, media, content, Internet to venturing methodology and corporate strategy. He has been focusing on the short to medium-term opportunities arising from the convergence, while keeping in mind the end-users and the required business tools for concepting, fast prototyping and market testing. While contributing to the strategic “big picture” Mr. Santamäki is also delivering concrete, executable programs. His motto is “in the morning we do visioning but afternoon we should already be coding the solution”. - Hence, he has in many cases himself played a key role when hiring the right type of core execution team and launching the new activity. With his unique way of reading the market opportunities and turning them to programs has taken him to key positions in large global organizations as well to establishing his own startups in Europe and in the USA. Mr. Santamäki was co-founder for Nokia Ventures organization. He was the VP, Strategy and Business Development for Nokia to create global N-Series smart phone strategy, to sign up global Internet deals (Yahoo, Microsoft, Amazon, Google), media deals with labels, newspapers, studios as well launching Nokia’s game publishing (Sega etc). He was also personally the catalyst for Nokia to enter digital marketing business with mobile search and advertising. The most recent move of Mr. Santamäki is the establishing of Sand Hill Services, Inc., an international consulting company. He is continuing with delivering the same change agent services what he did at Nokia Corporation - but now addressing VCs, their portfolio companies and larger companies in venturing and spin-offs.
